Today and yesterday, I went back to work on the car. Yesterday, I fixed the hole in the body where the winshield washer fluid foot pump had been broken through the plastic of the floor. I completed this with two layers of bondo fiberglass. It turned out great. I can no longer see the tire when im inside the car. Additionaly, I can now glue the carpet back down and install the new winsield washer tank and pump. Also, when I went to Auto Zone I found the long lost universal windshield washer tank and pump that I had ordered ages ago. This morning I completed another part of the car, the back window latch. I installed a 1 and 1/8 in. cabinet latch that I had bought from Lowes. I had to bend the lever inorder to have it fit. I used some metal bending tools that I have, however I could have used two pairs of linemen's plyers to do the job. The door now stays closed while driving and is very tight I am interested to see how it fairs against water, however I believe that it will probably still let in water because the top of the window is poorly designed and the seal is not tight enough. Finally, also while I was at auto zone today I bought some new plastic trck ramps inorder to get at the loose emergency break. I think that it is not only loose but very corroded and in need of some WD40. well I will let you know how that goes.
