Briefly describe the project:
The project is to take an old broken computer and make it run.
What have you accomplished this week?
We have finally gotten a computer to run it has a celleron processor and windows XP. We have found a hard drive that works, updated the computer, upgraded, and installed new programs. In addition we added a new video card. We unfortunetly cannot add anything else because there are no more PCI slots available.
What problems have you overcome this week?
We removed Deep Freeze form the computer and changed some of the properties of the user account. We deleted the "Student" account and edited the "Teched" account. We are downloading several helpful programs, and are making it a hacker computer with Bit-torrent and LimeWire.
What are the most significant problems you face at this time?
The problems we face at this time are making our computer preform the best that it can by over clocking it and updating drivers and the BIOS.
What will you do to meet these problems?
I will learn how to over clock the computer. In addition Jamie and I have sent an email to a company that sends BIOS upgrades and are waiting to here back.
What materials or information do you need? How do you plan on getting these materials or information?
We need updated drivers and files for updating the computer BIOS. I hope to find all of this on the web.
